KUROCHI – Fashion in Shadow

Client: KUROCHI Project: Promo + Behind-the-Scenes Fashion Video Series Role: Video Editor

Overview KUROCHI, a dark-toned fashion brand, brought me on to edit a series of promotional and behind-the-scenes videos aimed at growing brand awareness and attracting a new audience.

Creative Approach I leaned into the brand’s moody aesthetic—using shadow-heavy compositions, textured overlays, and stylized cuts to create a bold visual identity. My goal was to elevate the raw material into something that aligned with KUROCHI’s unique paradigm: edgy, minimal, and refined.

The Challenge The biggest challenge was transforming standard footage into something that fully embodied the brand’s tone. It required a careful balance of experimental effects and precision editing to match KUROCHI’s dark, sophisticated vibe.

The Outcome This project gave me the creative freedom to design a visual language from scratch. I loved exploring how to build atmosphere through color, pacing, and subtle effects—crafting something that felt both editorial and uniquely KUROCHI.

The request: Create a visually striking promo featuring a model in KUROCHI’s latest pieces—capturing the tension between elegance and raw intensity through different urban and minimalistic settings.

The challenge: Crafting a consistent visual tone across varied locations while maintaining the brand’s dark, refined aesthetic.

The approach: I used deep contrast, bold reds, and stylized movement to evoke a cinematic mood—aligning each frame with KUROCHI’s signature visual identity.

The request: Design a creative photo compilation video using stills from various shoots to promote KUROCHI’s evolving aesthetic and build visual brand identity.

The challenge: Transforming static images into a compelling motion piece that feels cinematic, modern, and aligned with KUROCHI’s dark design language.

The approach: I layered texture, rhythmic cuts, subtle zooms, and glitch accents to give the photos energy and atmosphere—turning still frames into a living brand statement.

The request: Craft a behind-the-scenes reel capturing the creative process of KUROCHI’s model shoots—showing the brand’s edge not just in look, but in spirit.

The challenge: Merging raw, candid moments with stylized editing while preserving the brand’s sleek, shadowy tone.

The approach: I used slowed motion, grain overlays, and ambient transitions to give the BTS footage a polished, editorial feel—turning behind-the-scenes into part of the brand narrative.
