For Jexo’s acquisition by Appfire, we wanted to create something that felt worthy of the milestone not another standard SaaS announcement post. Jexo had spent four years building a brand around the idea of making work fun and deliberately avoiding the usual tone of the Atlassian ecosystem. So for the acquisition announcement, we created an 8-bit game-inspired motion piece that told the company’s story as if Jexo had been progressing through different levels. The video follows the evolution of the company: the growth of the team, the apps they built, the community around the brand, and the philosophy that shaped Jexo from the beginning. It ends with Jexo meeting Appfire and entering a new level a playful way to introduce the acquisition without losing the personality people already associated with the brand. I worked on the creative concept, story, content, and narrative structure, shaping how four years of company history could become one clear, entertaining storyline. We then translated that narrative into the final motion piece, building the visual world around the 8-bit gaming concept. The goal was to make a major corporate announcement feel unmistakably Jexo: playful, unexpected, and completely different from the usual SaaS acquisition post.
