Overview The client, Helen Ellis, a prominent African-American fine artist, had a website that functioned merely as a static gallery. It lacked engagement, failed to convey her unique cultural narrative, and was non-functional from a UX/UI perspective for e-commerce. The goal was to completely retool the platform into a high-end digital gallery that honors her artistic vision while optimizing the checkout flow, building user trust, and driving art sales. The Problem (The Legacy Non-Functional Design) Poor Visual Hierarchy: The artwork didn't take center stage; layout choices distracted users from the vibrant colors of the paintings. Lack of Emotional Connection: The artist’s identity, her story, and her premium status were buried, failing to build immediate rapport with fine art collectors. Low Conversion Architecture: The "Shop" and "Commission" actions were friction-heavy, making the transition from "viewer" to "buyer" confusing. No Social Proof: The physical impact of her exhibitions and happy community of buyers were completely unutilized. The Solution & UX/UI Strategy (The Transformation) 1. Immersive Storytelling & Hero Section Strategy The Solution: Layered a high-resolution, vibrant masterpiece into the background of the artist’s portrait, using a subtle drop-shadow to create massive 3D depth and separate the human element from the background. Business Impact: Captures attention within the first 3 seconds, immediately establishing artistic authority and niche differentiation. 2. Custom 3D Identity Ring for the Biography Page The Solution: Implemented an innovative, panoramic 360-degree interactive concept where her artwork wraps around her portrait in a 3D ring. Business Impact: This solved the visual clutter of traditional bio pages, positioning the artist as the central "universe" of her work, making her story unforgettable to collectors. 3. Streamlined E-Commerce & Curated Framing The Solution: Created a minimalist gallery grid layout for the "Shop" page with ample negative space. Artworks are presented in premium contextual mockups (framed over luxury interiors) with immediate "Add to Cart" accessibility. Business Impact: Removes cognitive load, elevates perceived value, and allows the vibrant oil/acrylic tones to pop naturally, boosting micro-conversions. 4. Dedicated Trust & Social Proof Architecture The Solution: Structured a "Community Mosaic" and an "Exhibitions & Events" matrix showing the artist actively participating in the art community. Business Impact: Builds maximum credibility for high-ticket art investments and reduces buying hesitation for new collectors. The Results & Business Value Optimized Conversion Paths: Transitioned the site from a passive portfolio to an active sales funnel with integrated premium custom-commission workflows. Brand Elevation: Successfully communicated the premium value of the artwork, allowing the client to justify fine-art pricing tiers. Flawless Responsiveness: Engineered a seamless mobile-first shopping experience tailored to modern social-media discovery (e.g., traffic coming from Instagram). Tools Used: Figma (UX/UI Design & Micro-interactions) Adobe Photoshop (Custom Art Mockups & Depth Retouching)

Cover image for GoalQuesters is a community-driven, gamified
GoalQuesters is a community-driven, gamified goal-tracking mobile application designed to help users achieve their personal milestones through accountability, social support, and habit building. The primary challenge was to translate a complex feature set—combining social feeds, habit tracking, and progress visualization—into a clean, intuitive, and highly engaging dark-mode mobile interface that drives user retention and community interaction. The Problem & UX Strategy Standard goal trackers often feel lonely or like a chore, leading to high drop-off rates. The UX strategy for GoalQuesters focused on Gamification and Social Accountability. By introducing visual motivators like "Success Score Rings" around user avatars, interactive "Cheer Up" systems, and daily streak tracking, the design transforms routine habit-tracking into an engaging community quest. Key Features Designed & Optimized: My Goals Hub: A scannable, filterable dashboard (Active, Pending, Completed) featuring high-contrast progress bars, time-left indicators, and clear visibility tags (Public, Followers, Private). Dynamic Goal Page: Optimized for actionable engagement, prioritizing the primary action button ("Complete This Day") and structuring social proof (Comments, Cheer-ups, Participants) without cluttering the screen. Create Goal Flow: A frictionless, clean form design utilizing visual selectors (emojis/icons) and clear toggles to reduce cognitive load during goal setup. Gamified Profile Page: Designed to showcase user authority and milestones, featuring custom analytics cards (Goals, Completed, Success Rate, Badges) to boost user pride and engagement. Interactive Comments Feed: A clean, threaded messaging interface supporting multimedia feedback to strengthen community bonds. Design System & Visual Direction Theme: Modern, high-contrast Dark Mode to reduce eye strain and give a premium, tech-forward feel. Typography & Colors: Clean sans-serif typography paired with strategic neon accents (Electric Purple, Vivid Green, Radiant Yellow) used strictly for CTA buttons, progress states, and success indicators to guide the user's eye naturally. Layout: Highly functional, grid-aligned, and minimal card layouts to ensure the product is scalable for future features.
