When does a hand-drawn logo make sense for a brand? In this case, a Barcelona-based creative studio founded by a team with decades of combined experience approached me wanting a hand-drawn identity that would feel unexpected for a team like them, a way to signal creativity and distinction. They came with a strong concept: the sediment at the bottom of a wine glass. What stays after everything else fades. A nod to what good work leaves behind after years of experience. The entire identity is built on hand-drawn illustration, so the logo needed to do something different. With so much personality already living in the visuals, we went for a logotype with weight and presence, something that could anchor the brand and communicate their expertise. The hand is still there. Just in a different form. Do you think hand-drawn elements are being used more as a trend than as an intentional choice?

I recently created a quick concept where you can get a free boost for your post on X... but only if you beat Elon Musk in a retro boxing game. It's obviously an extreme example, and it probably works because Elon is one of those rare personalities who has become part of the platform's culture. But I'm not saying you should make your users punch your client in the face! The point is that most digital products have become incredibly efficient and increasingly forgettable. We've optimized for clicks, conversions, and speed, while removing much of the personality that makes experiences memorable. Not every product needs a mini-game. Not every CEO should become a final boss. But almost every product could benefit from a little more surprise, playfulness, and human connection. Very happy to share that my work is on Awwwards. Again. This is my third Awwwards nomination this year. The previous two projects received an Honorable Mention and a No-Code Honors award, so let's see how this one does. Over the past few months, I've helped Rozalia Boma bring her website to life, and it's easily one of the most whimsical projects I've ever designed. Inspired by her nostalgic, multicultural YA romances, we embraced a bold Y2K aesthetic with holographic backgrounds, floating emojis, magical mouse trails, a retro music player, draggable sections, a guestbook, a dress-up mini-game, and plenty of playful interactions. To be honest, I wasn't sure a project this unconventional would resonate with a platform like Awwwards. It breaks plenty of web design conventions, but it connects deeply with its audience. Branding and graphic design is one of them. These projects force me to learn new things and trust my instinct in areas where I don't have much formal experience — and that's exactly why I love them. Anna is a doctor, a yoga instructor, and a very dear friend. We started this process with a long conversation, not a moodboard. She wanted something approachable, a place of connection where listening to one's body is at the centre, and something that felt like her: warm, considered, a little playful, with the depth of someone who actually knows the body. The result is a small, warm, intentional brand — one that feels like her practice and her voice. Designing for a friend is a kind of listening too. This one was a joy.

The premise is simple: letters are everywhere. Every one of them is a design decision made by someone, somewhere. Found Type turns that into a collective archive. No friction. One flow, one purpose. The more people contribute, the more beautiful it becomes. 📍 How it was built: - The entire front-end was built in Figma Make, prompt by prompt, iterated screen by screen. - The submission flow uses the Anthropic Vision API to validate every photo: confirming it shows a real letter, checking the tag matches, and generating a plain-English description stored in Supabase for moderation - meaning the collection stays clean without user accounts or manual review of every submission. - Image processing happens entirely client-side via the Browser Canvas API: crop, resize to 800×800, compress - before anything reaches Supabase storage. 🛠️ Tools used - Figma Make - full front-end - Anthropic Vision API - AI validation + moderation - Supabase - real-time database and image storage - Browser Canvas API - client-side image processing 🔮 What's next - A downloadable font made entirely from submitted photos. - Filters by country, colour, style. - A printed poster of the full collection. - Contributor profiles.
