PANGO was created as a digital platform to reclaim and amplify Afro-cannabis culture, a culture that has long been erased or criminalized despite its global influence. This context informed a brand designed to reframe the narrative and return cultural ownership to the communities it comes from.
The identity was built as a community-first system for a global movement. Hand illustrations referencing sharing, cultivation, and ritual form the core of the visual language, reinforcing connection and collective presence.
Instead of default cannabis symbols, the brand icon combines a sun and a bud to express vitality, growth, and forward momentum. A bold sticker system highlights the many names for cannabis across the African diaspora, turning language into a visual asset and laying the foundation for future product storytelling.
PANGO positions culture at the center, using design as a tool for visibility, pride, and celebration.
