Over the past few weeks, I have shared a lot of what I have been working towards for years with Halate (https://www.linkedin.com/company/halate/). It’s the part of my life I share most often, and something that genuinely makes me proud. But there are also other sides of me that I like to share every once in a while. Building a personal brand and starting a new company are deeply personal. It can feel like you are creating something for yourself, but in ways it can also feel like you are simply trying to make enough money to pay the rent and cover your basic needs. Sometimes I feel like just another cog in the machine we call capitalism. Over the last few years I have been working a lot on myself and trying to see who I really am and what I really want. But because of internal and external struggles I also feel like a ghost in a shell that is just here to fulfill the social standards that we have build. I struggle with depression, loneliness and a general feeling of uselessness. I question life often and a lot of times it feels meaningless. Besides those internal struggles, I am constantly confronted by everything happening around us… trying to find a home, searching for more work, struggling to form meaningful connections, the state of the world, people blaming minorities for society’s problems, the rise of AI and whatever else comes next… These thoughts occupy my mind almost every day. Even though I have managed to turn my passion into my work, I still struggle to tell my own stories and express my own creativity. So from today, I want to do something with these thoughts and struggles. I want to make space for my own stories, not to chase likes or views and not because I expect to change anyone’s mind. Simply to express myself, for myself.

I think working on my portfolio is the coolest thing ever because I can go as crazy as I want, who is there to stop me? 😅 It's been seven years since I first discovered Webflow and built my very first portfolio site. A few redesigns later, at the end of this summer, it felt like the time to push myself again and come up with something fresh. This time I wanted to create something that doesn’t really follow the standard web design rules. I mixed GSAP with some custom code to build this grid-like setup, which functions as an online archive of everything I’m proud of, from paid projects to passion projects. FolioScan: brand and product design for a calm document scanner olioScan is a local-first document scanner for iOS and Android. I designed the brand (mark, color, type, voice), the full app interface in light and dark, a tablet layout, onboarding and splash animations, a 30 second launch trailer, and the Flutter implementation. What I did Brand mark built from a folded page and four scan corners, with app icon and lockups Color and type system with accessible light and dark roles and a 4 point spacing scale App design for capture, review and crop, text search, folders, annotations, export and settings Voice guidelines that stay honest about what the app can and cannot do Marketing assets: store screenshots, social carousel, covers and a trailer A complete brand guideline and a coherent product design ready for development, with copy and layout that hold up in English and Dutch.

I shipped my first mobile game this week. LexiBlocks combines two genres that rarely meet: falling-block stacking and word building. Each piece carries letters, and you clear the board by spelling words across or down. A few things I learned building it solo in Flutter: - Design the system first. I built a full design system (tokens, tile components, screens) before writing game code, and it made the Flutter build much faster. - The core loop is one decision. Every drop trades survival against score. Everything else supports that. - Word detection needs rules. I scan every row and column after each lock and take the longest valid word per run, so players get credit without subword spam. I made a puzzle game where you rotate a hexagon to catch falling blocks Hi all, I'm the developer of Hexafall and it just went live on Google Play. Colored blocks fall toward a hexagon in the middle of the screen. You tap the left or right side to rotate it, and when three blocks of the same color touch, they clear. If any side stacks up past the outer ring, the run is over. The part I spent the most time on is the board shapes. There are six: hexagon, heptagon, pentagon, octagon, square and triangle. Fewer sides means fewer lanes to spread blocks across, so the square and triangle get tense quickly. Each shape keeps its own high score. A few other details: - One thumb, portrait, short runs - Color blind mode (red and green become purple and orange) - Built on the open source game Hextris, rebuilt in Flutter with the new shapes I'd like to hear what you think of the difficulty curve, especially whether the triangle is fun hard or just unfair. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hexafall.hexafall&pcampaignid=web_share

Just another project I am working on. LexiBlocks is an arcade word puzzle that combines falling-block stacking with word building. Letter blocks drop into a ten by twenty grid. Rotate, move, and place them to form real words across or down. Any word of three letters or more clears from the board, the tiles above collapse, and you score.
