#EnvatoChallenge Designing a 3D table lamp inspired by Vietnamese “Non la” and “Ao dai” with Envato. Using Envato’s AI toolkit, I generated the ceramic base, rice-paper shade, and product video from a simple sketch and a handful of tagged material references. AI handled execution well. What it couldn’t do: tell me that a generation was technically fine but still wrong. I rejected a full batch that lost the lamp’s silhouette, and manually retouched a detail AI kept leaving incomplete. It also couldn’t tell me that back-to-school timing was the actual commercial hook, not just an aesthetic one. That’s the distinction I keep coming back to with AI tools: technically good and actually good aren’t the same thing, and right now, that gap is where human judgment still does all the work.
