Are mockup sites slowly becoming irrelevant?
With AI, you can generate or adapt almost any mockup in seconds. Feels like the whole workflow is shifting.
Do you still use mockup sites, or have you fully switched to AI?

I still seek out mockup sites, there is still a feeling they have that AI has yet to capture
I couldn't agree more, I also still use them and they are also easier to replace content on!
no switches for me, even if these are lovely! i find i'm usually able to make a mockup of sorts from pre-existing, free stock images that haven't been taken expressly for the purpose of being used as a design mockup or even working with png layers from them to convey the...
Thank you! They are both AI and also stock mockups! I still use mockup sites, I tend to go to Ai when the proportions I am looking for are not quite there honestly and it helps me adjust sizes a little bit.

I love using mockups sites that have specific collections that are part of the same photoshoot. They save me a lot of time, as visual mockups are still not perfect yet and we have to spend the time to make sure they are.
Sites like Bendito Mockup, Mockups Asia, Wanna This One, Akoya Mockups, Mockup Maison, Format Mockups etc

I agree, I find the flow much faster and I like to see the result so I can choose what will work. I also like supporting photographers by using mockups, guess I'm a bit old fashioned! Intrigued by workflows to see how people are getting results in using AI too!

AI is definitely changing the workflow - no doubt. It’s faster, more flexible, and I use tools like Flora, Runway, and ChatGPT myself.

The workflow is definitely shifting! I’ve been experimenting with using AI for the creative 'spark,' but I still jump back to dedicated design tools to keep the brand assets clean. For e-commerce especially, a mockup is only as good as its ability to convert once it’s actually live in an inbox.

I haven't fully switched, but my "loyalty" has shifted. I use AI for 80% of the creative heavy lifting (social ads, pitch decks, and rapid variants). However, for that final "hero shot" that needs to look 100% physically accurate, I still go back to a high-quality 4D or PSD...
I think that some designers or people with trained eye can tell the difference. As for illustrative mockups, which final destination is a presentation and not a website, I don't mind having and AI generated image. However, for an e-commerce site, I think it should look more real...

They are all from different projects so it really depends! To get an accurate mockup in AI it takes me a couple prompts and then I have to process it through Photoshop
That makes sense — getting AI outputs production-ready still takes a strong eye and solid post-processing. The final results look really refined.

I agree with the majority in this thread about the premium feel of some mockups and that's easier to replace the content but still try to produce similar results with AI. What tools and/or workflow have you found to work most successful fro mockup generation?
Agreed! Normally Gemini, and Firefly with its embedded models. I have also experimented with Crea and Flora and found that they create awesome results!

Most AI design tools get tested on what they can generate. I tested Claude Design on whether it could work inside a system that already existed.
What I loved about it is that it reasons before it builds. It had a point of view. It flagged its own mistakes before I caught them.
What slipped a bit for me: give it nuanced information and it'll smooth it over to sound cohesive. It can lose accuracy chasing consistency.
It's more of a thinking collaborator than a generator - but the judgment calls are still yours.

I tested Google Stitch. The output quality, speed, and built-in features like heatmap and project brief totally exceeded my expectations.
p.s. Figma export is working now, and Stitch is part of my workflow.
Stitch is completely redefining the speed-to-market workflow right now! The output quality is wild, and adding heatmaps directly into the layout phase is brilliant. Definitely a sign of where creative strategy tools are heading.
First time working on a Claude Code site as a Framer dev. The AI did a solid job building it but iterating on design through prompts vs. a visual canvas is a completely different experience. Each tool has its lane.
@Framer is the goat here.
I use Claude Code daily, it's not the tool, it's the workflow. Framer's speed for design work is just unmatched.
