Love it option 1 is my choise
I’d go with Option 2. It feels more refined and timeless to me, especially for a brand like Throughline.
Second design is great and first color is nice

Option 2 looks great!
Option 2 feels more premium to me, that thin logotype has range across different applications. What's driving Throughline toward wanting two such different directions in the first place?
Love option 2 for it's simplicity
Both are looking really good, but my first choice is option 2.

One is loud and square on: cobalt curves against saturated orange, black type up the left edge.

Which flow seems more natural to you?
In the first option, the user opens the app and is offered a general selection of films. If the user wants to get unique recommendations, they can do so separately.
In the second option, the app first asks about current preferences and then offers personalized recommendations.
