A website isn't expensive because it looks good.
It's expensive because it has to WORK.
I've seen businesses spend thousands on beautiful websites that still fail to generate meaningful results.
Why?
Because the real investment wasn't made in the right places:

โ Strong calls-to-action
โ A clear customer journey
A $2,000 website and a $10,000 website can look surprisingly similar.
The difference is usually what happens underneath the design.
One was built to "have a website."
The other was built to support a business.
That's the distinction I think more business owners should understand before hiring a web designer.
Don't ask:
"How much will my website cost?"
Ask:
"What is this website supposed to help my business achieve?"
That's where the real conversation begins.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately.
At 20, it seemed like a confirmation.
Today, at 33, the words make me feel a little anxious.
Not because I'm old, but because we work in an industry obsessed with innovation: new tools, new trends, new frameworks every week.
I see designers mastering software released yesterday morning.
Fast, hungry, and technically formidable.
Honestly, a little intimidating.
So I find myself wondering if I'll actually be able to keep up, or if I'll quietly become 'obsolete'.
But then I look at the real work.
The work of clients and their requests and needs.
The work they pay me for.
Clients don't hire me to open the latest Figma plugin and produce 10 variations overnight.
They need someone who already knows which 9 to discard and saves them time and weeks of indecision.
This doesn't mean you stop learning.
Curiosity still matters, and it's what keeps you in the game.
I'm saying that knowing what to cut is part of the job.
And it usually takes years to get there.

What if a gallery felt like scrolling through someoneโs feed?
For Namaste Studios, I wanted the gallery section to have a bit more personality than the usual collection of neatly arranged images.
So I borrowed a visual language we already know instinctively: Instagram posts.
The cards sit around the main content and stay sticky as you scroll, creating this playful, layered composition that slowly unfolds with the page.
It makes the section feel less like โhere are some photos from our studioโ and more like youโre getting little glimpses into the world of Namaste.
Sometimes a familiar interaction, used in a slightly unexpected way, is all a section needs.

Should animation simply catch attention, or invite interaction?
In the first version, the abstract form continuously transforms on its own. It keeps the hero section dynamic and atmospheric without requiring any action from the user.
In the second version, the object reacts to cursor movement through a parallax effect. The experience becomes more playful, immersive, and responsive.
One gives users something to watch. The other gives them something to influence.
Which approach works better for a hero section: automatic motion or interactive animation?
