When working on the Hotplate site, we kept coming back to one idea: it should feel human, organic, not corporate.
The masking tape, polaroid reveal effect, almost as if it's developing in your hand, are a small piece of that. 📸

The polaroid developing effect is a smart way to make the site feel unfinished on purpose, most SaaS landing pages go the opposite direction and over polish everything. Fits the human, not corporate brief well.

The masking tape sells it more than the polaroid for me, that little imperfection is what makes it feel handled rather than rendered.
