Yawa is my weather app, and its sky isn’t a background picture. It’s a live Rive scene driven by your forecast. The sun sits where it really is and the light changes through the day. Clouds, rain, snow, fog and thunderstorms show up when they’re actually coming, and at night the stars come out.
How it’s built
The whole weather scene runs on Rive data binding. Sun position, time of day, clouds, precipitation, thunder and the camera are view model values the app sets from live weather. Because the scene is pure data, the Rive CLI can render it headless, frame by frame. That’s how every visual for the launch was made: the store art, the App Store header and the trailer, all from the same file that ships in the app. Nothing was mocked up.
