tbt: It’s 2017. I’m in San Francisco, at 500 Startups office. Everyone’s building something, so am I. I’m working on an app meant to replace Eventbrite + Facebook for private community events.
The business model is simple: take a small % from ticket sales.
I’m prototyping the app (in PP), wire-framing, writing specs (in GDoc), and meeting community organisers, all while doing the School42 program where I'm learning to code.
I gather ~10k early users and have a developer who’s helping to build the app in React Native.
I bootstrap for almost a year. I can’t code the app myself fast enough, and I can’t afford the dev. The project dies.

Right? I'm pretty stoked. Can't say I haven't had this thought but with these challenges its that extra boost to lock in some nights and weekends. 🔥

Its really impressive what someone can build today with the help of the AI for all the coding related tasks. In a day you can have an MVP ready to be presented.
Right? Back in 2017 it took me, someone who can't code mobile apps, months to have something I can show people.
Unintentionally landing in Silicon Valley between 2010-2020, the Unicorn era epicenter of Uber, Airbnb, SaaS, apps, social media and alike, def is a vibe. 😀
