UI/UX design for the first product of a U.S.-focused startup building a nightlife utility app 💃🎊
The app uses live foot-traffic data to show which venues are busiest through a real-time map, rankings, and insights, helping users aged 18–30 decide where to go out.
We designed an iOS-first mobile experience and custom design system, balancing clarity with a sharp, playful tone, while supporting monetization via ads and premium analytics.

What if the map wasn't a utility but the entire game world?
That was the core decision on SideQuest.
A location-based social app. But not the usual: no flat pins, no generic list views, no "events near you" cards buried in a feed.
The brief was real-world gamification. Playful. Spatial. But actually functional.
So I built a 3D isometric city as the home screen. Streets become quest zones. Every pin has a mission type: Challenge, Workout, Live, Events, or Player. Movement earns XP worth chasing.
One map. Infinite reasons to step outside. That's the whole app in one screen.
Five activity types. No boring filter tabs. All experiences live together: 5K Morning Run, Sunset Rooftop Meetup, and Live Now, each with XP rewards, coin drops, and real people going.
Sky-blue world, floating 3D buildings, animated pulse rings as intentional depth not decoration, core interaction design.
Would you have kept the map flat or built the whole world in 3D?
