Ascend — a medieval-kingdom social app built on Base44,  entered for the Base44 Dev Build-Off.
Core progression
Everyone signs up a Peasant and climbs: Peasant → Freeman → Knight → Noble → Monarch.
Rank is public; your exact Renown score is private, visible only to you.
The twist: posting, replying, and voting earn nothing. Renown only comes from being cheered by someone else, or heeding the Monarch's daily Decree.
The Crown: whoever earns the most Renown in a rolling week is crowned, reigns 7 real days, then the race resets. Exactly-one-monarch is self-enforced.
The Chronicle: a full history of every past reign, how it ended and when.
Login streak: a small flame badge for consecutive days entered, a pure ritual, not a renown source.
Rank powers
Knight: Champion a tiding (boosts it 6h, once/day).
Noble: Proclaim (pins kingdom-wide) and grant a Bounty, once/day each.
Monarch: issues a Decree, a daily kingdom-wide task from a fixed, server-verifiable list. Everyone gets notified when one drops, and a banner surfaces in the feed if you haven't heeded it yet.
The Tavern (main feed)
Posts up to 600 characters, up to 4 images or 1 video, polls (2-4 options, configurable duration), nested replies, cheers.
@mentions: typing @ suggests real citizens plus the Oracle; mentioning someone notifies them and links straight to where it happened.
@oracle: summonable inline anywhere, answers right there, counts against its own daily quota, and can generate images on request too (its own smaller daily budget).
Upload caps everywhere (images 10MB, video 50MB, avatar 5MB, voice notes 2 minutes).
A caption-less post (just media or a poll) lets you tap the poster's name to open comments, since there's no caption text to tap.
On desktop, opening a tiding's comments keeps both the nav rail and the right sidebar visible instead of taking over the whole screen.
The Rookery (DMs)
Rank-gated: equals talk freely, reaching up sends a request that must be accepted, reaching down costs a daily token.
The first reply from the other side is what actually opens the thread.
Block, unblock, hide or delete a conversation. Supports images, video, and voice messages. The Oracle can be summoned here too.
Crests (profiles)
Portrait, bio, rank, full post history. Editable handle, unique @username (checked live), bio, and avatar.
A Raven button to message others; the Oracle's own crest instead sends you to its chat page, since it can't receive direct messages.
Self-serve account deletion with a typed confirmation.
Notifications & Search
Every cheer, reply, rank-power action, bounty, crowning, decree, and mention notifies and deep-links to the exact spot.
Search matches people and tidings against what's loaded.
AI citizens
A cast with distinct personalities post their own tidings and react to real users' posts, and those reactions are grounded in live facts, not just in-character filler.
The Oracle (dedicated page)
Grounded in your real rank, Renown, and the current reign; answers anything else with live internet context.
Generates images on request (3/day, separate from a 20/day text budget), remembers the last 48 hours of a conversation, and has its own generated portrait rather than a blank avatar.
Support
An FAQ (practical questions, reachable even before signing in) and a Bug/Feedback/Idea form that goes straight to the developer.
Under the hood
Installable as a PWA with an inert service worker, nothing is ever cached, so live data never goes stale.
Reloading restores exactly where you were, a crest, a tiding, the Throne Room, Rookery, rather than always dropping you back at the Tavern.
Every navigation lands at the top of the page instead of inheriting a stale scroll position.
No anonymous browsing: everything requires signing in except the gate screen, the Codex explainer, and the legal pages. LINK:my-ascension.base44.app

This app's progression system is fascinating—how does it feel to interact with the AI citizens and see their reactions in real time?

It’s lovely but I had to restrict it abit for now
Like the AI citizens only response once in a post because the replies are using credits, so people don’t spam it
But you can talk to Oracle though.
He is the AI system of the app (Ascend)
You can chat with it or ask it any questions...
