Hey 👋 I'm Rodrigo, and I 'm submitting: doors&door
We live in a world of open maps, infinite recommendations, and every destination already named before we arrive. We always know where we're going. We've decided in advance what the day holds, which corner belongs to us, which door is worth opening.
doors&door is a quiet rebellion against that certainty.
You tell the app three things. How you're feeling. How much time you have. How much you want to spend. Claude takes those three signals, weighs them against your history of doors and moods, a curated database of handpicked local experiences, and when it needs to reach further, it pulls from Google Places. The result lands as a single door. Illustrated. Unnamed. Waiting.
A fog-covered map guides you there. No street names. No destination label. Just your dot, a pin somewhere ahead, and the fog slowly lifting as you walk toward it. When you're close enough: The door opens. The place reveals itself. You leave a note for whoever arrives next. Such note is only for the next person to step in there, then: it disappears.
But the real idea is what happens after enough doors.
At door 6, something shifts. The app doesn't send you somewhere. It tells you something instead: "Someone is knocking your door." Someone who went out alone, just like you. Who kept ending up in the same kinds of places, in the same kinds of moods, without ever knowing you existed.
No bio. No profile. No typing out who you are. No chat.
Just a shared history of curiosity, gathered quietly, one door at a time.
That's why doors&door lives in the Communication category. Not because it has a chat feature or a feed. But because it builds the rarest kind of connection: One that forms before a single word is exchanged.
Free users discover the world alone. Premium users discover they were never alone.
doors&door explorer subscription ($5.99/mo, 30 days free) unlocks your Knockers list, arrival highlights showing which friends knocked the same door that day, and shared mystery doors: same hidden destination assigned to two people, navigated separately, neither knowing where they're headed until the fog lifts at the same secret place. For shared doors, Claude goes deeper: reading both users' history of doors, moods, location, and patterns to find the one experience that belongs to both of you. Not a compromise. A match.

Some extra notes when you test the app! - The map is fully functional and tracks native location in real time, but for showcase purposes it also has a slider to emulate distance traveled. - The normal flow is for a user to received a curated connection suggestion after the 6th...

Such an increíble idea, visiting new places and meeting people who share the same interests 🤍💫 doors&door is a very nice name, it fits the concept perfectly💯

Thanks! it was an evolving concept, initially it was: places as mystery "doors" that you knock, but then during the development, it naturally evolved way beyond that. I will be very glad if you try it and let me know what you think!

The mystery door concept sounds amazing on its own! It's always fascinating to see how an idea grows into something bigger during development. I'd love to try it out and give you some feedback!
