Most gaps in a GitHub contribution graph have a reason behind them. Parental leave, out sick, touching grass 🤭 I designed a small feature for that. You select the empty days on your graph, say what you were doing, and they’re marked as time away. Some of the decisions behind it: 1. Kept GitHub’s keyboard model for the grid, then added Shift + arrows for ranges 2. Every day has a proper label, and marking or removing days gets announced 3. In high contrast mode, away days become a hatch, like GitHub’s dots for levels 4. Selection follows the dates down each week, because that’s how the graph reads 5. On touch, a long press starts selecting, so a normal swipe still scrolls Try it here: https://uzookafor.com/time-away/

Marking time away on the graph is a kind idea. Does the hatch pattern read well on light mode too?
