Sometimes, all it takes is a change in color – and the exact same design can feel completely different.
The light version, with soft pink tones and natural textures, feels fresh, light, and airy. It creates a sense of calm, natural beauty, and a closer connection to nature.
The dark version tells a completely different story. A black background immediately adds depth, character, and a sense of luxury. The design becomes more expressive and even slightly dramatic.
So, which version speaks to you more – light and airy or dark and luxurious?
The thing about colors is it needs to follow the brand’s attributes & positioning, you mentioned how they feel in a great way, but the choice comes down to the brand’s positioning strategy.
if its a luxury brand & will charge a premium for their services/products then go with...
I like the dark version. The light version's CTA "Get Started" and the "alive" highlight gets washed out in the light version and lines look heavy as well. General feedback the info card from light to dark is inconsistent and in both light and dark the image could be freed out better. Good start!
I’d go with the light version. It feels more natural and approachable, while the soft tones create a calm, refined feel that suits the brand beautifully.
My previous poll showed unexpected results (I am very grateful to everyone who took the time to vote and comment 🤍).
Now I am curious about your opinion on the color mode for this hero section. I definitely like a light theme. What about you?
By the way, I made a nice animation for this design. You can see it on my profile
I’m currently working on a branding project for Massage & Mocktails — a concept built around couples learning massage together in a relaxed, social atmosphere.
These are two early, black & white directions from Stage 2 of my branding process, before moving into color, typography, and the full visual system.
The interesting part?
My client chose Concept 1. I chose Concept 2.
Now I’m curious what other creatives think.
Which direction would you choose — 1 or 2? And why?
Sometimes the most interesting part of branding is seeing how differently a client and a designer respond to the same brief.
Concept 2 for me. That interlocking figure mark reads as two people meeting, which is the actual brief here, so it gives you more to build a system on. Concept 1 is the safer, more literal pick, which is usually why clients reach for it.
Explored two different visual directions for the same SaaS landing page.
The structure stays consistent, while the imagery, mood and art direction shift the overall brand feel.
Interested to know which direction feels stronger.
