One of the projects I feel most connected to.
In 1989, in Beijing, an unknown man stepped into the path of a column of tanks. What happened to him afterwards remains uncertain. His name is still unknown, but the image of that moment became one of the most recognizable photographs of the 20th century.
I wanted to recreate that scene and bring the focus back to the man at its center.
Not a famous figure. Not a leader. Just one man, standing in the middle of a street, while history moved around him.
At the end of the video, I included the original footage of the moment that inspired the reconstruction.
Decades later, we still remember the image.
And sometimes, an image is enough to make a moment impossible to forget.
