VOIDFORGE — Logo Design for a Sci-Fi Game Development Studio
A few months ago, I was contacted through Telegram by a small indie game development team preparing to launch their new sci-fi studio called VOIDFORGE.
The founders already had a clear vision for their future projects. They wanted to create large-scale science fiction experiences inspired by space exploration, advanced technology, and the feeling of discovering the unknown. However, they were missing one crucial piece — a strong visual identity that could make the studio look professional from day one.
As an early-stage startup, their budget was limited. The team originally planned to spend around $50–100 on logo, but after discussing their goals and roadmap, I offered them a discounted logo package to help them establish their brand before seeking additional funding and publishing opportunities. The cost of design became much lower - only 10$
Their main request was simple:
"We need something that feels like it belongs next to the biggest sci-fi franchises, but still has its own personality."
After several creative explorations, we focused on the concept of a black hole / interstellar portal — a symbol that perfectly reflected the studio's vision of creating gateways to entirely new worlds.
The final identity combines mystery, energy, and futuristic aesthetics. The glowing orange core represents creation and limitless potential, while the dark center symbolizes the unknown regions players are invited to explore.
When the final concept was delivered, the founders immediately approved it without requesting major revisions. They particularly loved how the logo looked across different applications — from game splash screens and social media profiles to future marketing materials.
The project became more than just a logo design. It gave the studio a recognizable visual foundation and a clear brand direction as they move toward releasing their first titles.

First Impressions: Brand's Make-or-Break Moment
Kevin Stirtz said, "Every contact we have with a customer influences whether or not they'll come back." Guess what? It's 100% true.
This is one quote I love so much. When working on a brand’s strategy, we always develop customer touchpoints, those moments where people first get to know your business. It could be through social media posts, a recommendation from a friend, billboards, ads, or your website.
These first touchpoints matter a lot. Many starting businesses overlook them, not realizing how much branding plays a role here. It’s often one of the biggest decision-making stages for customers. If the first contact feels off or rude, most people (including me) won’t go further.
That’s why first impressions are so important to me. I personally take time to respond to every comment and reply across my socials, because those are often people’s first contact with my brand.
Branding lays the foundation for these moments. While marketing and responses to enquiries are important, consistent branding and messaging ensure your brand feels the same across every touchpoint. It takes multiple interactions before someone decides to buy, and inconsistent branding can cause you to lose them before that point.
