This is one quote I love so much. When working on a brand’s strategy, we always develop customer touchpoints, those moments where people first get to know your business. It could be through social media posts, a recommendation from a friend, billboards, ads, or your website. These first touchpoints matter a lot. Many starting businesses overlook them, not realizing how much branding plays a role here. It’s often one of the biggest decision-making stages for customers. If the first contact feels off or rude, most people (including me) won’t go further. That’s why first impressions are so important to me. I personally take time to respond to every comment and reply across my socials, because those are often people’s first contact with my brand. Branding lays the foundation for these moments. While marketing and responses to enquiries are important, consistent branding and messaging ensure your brand feels the same across every touchpoint. Atlas is a startup telecom brand in Nigeria, starting with data and airtime services and aiming to become one of Africa’s leading telecom brands. They needed a strong, scalable identity for their current offerings and future growth. We began with a one-on-one discovery session with the founder to understand their vision and long-term direction in Africa’s digital ecosystem. The founder specifically requested a wordmark, so we focused on customizing the initial “a” and refining the letterforms to create a distinctive, energetic mark. After exploring several concepts, we developed a clean, bespoke wordmark with a subtle Wi-Fi element woven in. The color palette centers on layered shades of blue, chosen to evoke confidence, trust, and reliability. These rich blues create a modern, tech-forward aesthetic that feels innovative yet dependable—perfect for connecting Africa’s youth. The mark forms an abstract “N” using the same grid-based, modular logic that defines the actual furniture. The two smaller squares at the top right and bottom left represent the compact, flexible units Nestform offers — pieces that easily fit into any room. The wider middle shape symbolizes transformation, showing how these units can expand, adapt, and reconfigure to meet different needs. Overall, the logo beautifully communicates what the brand stands for: smart, flexible furniture that adapts to your space instead of cluttering it. Before people truly connect with a brand, they often feel it first through its colours. People might forget what a brand says, but they always remember how its colours made them feel, and all of that happens in the subconscious mind. When you see green paired with gold, your subconscious mind instantly picks up premium and luxury. See purple, red, or navy blue with gold, and it immediately signals royalty. It’s not something you have to think about or analyse, it speaks to you right away. We all know red can mean danger, but also love. Black can represent death or evil, yet it can also communicate power and elegance. That’s why colour is such an important piece of the big puzzle. And that puzzle is called branding — the game we play here. And just having colours that evoke emotions and perceptions subconsciously isn’t enough. How they’re branded matters too.
