Poster Design: My Favorite Place Is Not on the Map
Built from a hand-made analog collage, digitized and refined in Photoshop. The process starts with physical materials (magazine cutouts, photography, printed text) composed by hand and then worked digitally to create a cohesive final piece with typography.
The main challenge was integrating type into a visually dense image without losing balance. The solution was to keep the text outside the collage, using the negative space to create breathing room and let both elements, image and message, hold their own weight.
The result sits intentionally between art and communication design: it reads like a poster, but resists the usual markers of one.

Does setting the vibe before the prompt actually change what Lovable builds?
I configured typography, color, and layout density before writing a single line — then let it build a full brand world page for a fictional luxury skincare brand, Gaia Essence.
Cormorant Garamond + DM Sans Light + parchment + obsidian + burnished gold. Set in the aesthetics panel. Not in the prompt.
What landed: the font pairing alone shifted the output from generic template to editorial. The tool made creative decisions — roman numerals, gold italic treatment, dark/light section contrast — without being asked.
What surprised me: "no buttons, pure brand world" was interpreted correctly on the first run.
What I'd change: more control over line height and surface hierarchy within the color token system.
The aesthetics update changes the quality ceiling, not just the starting point.

Seeing my design work displayed on the side of a San Francisco Muni bus fills me with immense pride and joy. There’s something incredibly special about witnessing a project you poured your creativity into as it moves through the city, reaching so many people in their everyday lives.
Collaborating with the Creative Youth Awards over the past few months for their upcoming celebration has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Knowing that my designs are helping to amplify their mission and celebrate young talent is incredibly fulfilling, and seeing the bus ad out in the world has made the entire journey even more meaningful. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do as a designer.
