I built a game UI that shouldn't exist. Harker's Descent — a Dracula-inspired game interface built entirely in Rive. The main menu is a compass medallion hanging from a chain in a storm. You don't click buttons. You place your hand and make a deal with Dracula. To confirm — a dagger falls. Blood spills. The screen drowns in crimson. The next world opens beneath it. Every element is alive: the all watching eye, crow following your cursor, lightning strikes, a bare tree in the wind, a wolf in the shadows, Harker standing in the storm holding a lantern — watching the mechanism that will decide his fate. Built in Rive using rigging, vector graphics, audio events, state machines, and more timeline keyframes than I care to count. A cinematic sci-fi world built from a single moment of tension: two figures, one planet, one ship, and a beam of cosmic energy tearing the sky apart.

A small robot with glowing orange eyes crouches near ancient crystal formations. A neon-armored warrior watches from the shadows. Above them, a sleek warship cuts through the purple atmosphere, leaving smoke trails behind. Nobody moves. Everything feels like it's about to.

The deep violet planet surface, rainbow energy beam, halftone grain texture, and neon orange-cyan armor accents create a world that feels lifted straight out of a 90s sci-fi comic but rendered for 2025.

Really proud of how the contrast between the warm neon accents and the cold purple atmosphere creates tension without a single word of dialogue.

Hello! 🎵 My entry for the Contra + Rive Challenge: Impossible UI. Combining Music, History, and Interaction on Rive. This crazy idea arose from creating motion transitions so you can discover who these two characters were. Where I come from, music is always present. And listening to salsa is a must. Sometimes the stories within the songs are simple, but other times they are so complex, and when you listen to a lot of salsa, you find connections you never imagined existed. These two criminal characters are connected. As if they lived in the same universe, even though from another point of view it might seem otherwise. One song performed by Rubén Blades and the other sung by the magnificent voice of Héctor Lavoe. But the incredible thing is how they connect through the composer Willie Colón. And the latter with many songs with stories and characters. Its goal is to educate future generations and honor these masters. Let's make the internet more beautiful.
