Death by Chapter — Cover Design
The main challenge was balancing the book’s cozy small-town charm with its murder-mystery suspense. I created a warm evening atmosphere with a charming bookstore, glowing streetlights, flowers, and subtle darker tones to maintain the mystery.
I carefully matched the typography, colors, imagery, and decorative details to the author’s vision and target readers. The front, spine, and back were designed as one cohesive package, giving the book a polished and professional finish.
The goal was simple: make the cover beautiful enough to attract readers while visually telling them what kind of story awaits inside

I enjoy creating work in series.
At some point in the past, I decided to create hand-lettered designs for some of my favorite types of wine.
I started with simple hand-drawn sketches on paper and later developed them into vector graphics. Then, I created Art Deco-inspired posters for each of them. I also painted the grapes myself, using acrylic paint on canvas.

The raccoon mascot is such a fun choice for a screentime app, most of these go clinical and cold. Did the illustration style come before or after you landed on Detach as the name?
I’d probably reach for the vintage one first. The imperfections and color give it more personality, but the modern version feels more intentional and premium. Depends on whether the goal is nostalgia or standing out on a modern shelf.
Is minimalism doing this label a favor, or losing what made it charming? 🤔
Found this while flipping through a Japanese book of vintage canned food labels and decided to give one a rework. Same ham, completely different shelf presence.
