For logo motion I judge one thing: does the movement come from the mark's own geometry or is it applied on top. The version where the animation feels inevitable, like the logo was always meant to move that way, is the stronger one. What was the build order on each?
Yeah, that was pretty intentional. V1 is built more from the geometry of the mark, the symbol pieces come together first, then the wordmark follows. V2 takes a more effect driven approach, with the mark and wordmark coming in through the horizontal distortion before settling into the final logo.
Version 2 for me. The full lockup building in with that glow gives it more weight, and pairing the mark with the wordmark helps people actually connect the two when they see the icon alone later. Version 1 is cleaner but reads more like a loading spinner than a brand moment.
Iβm currently working on a branding project for Massage & Mocktails β a concept built around couples learning massage together in a relaxed, social atmosphere.
These are two early, black & white directions from Stage 2 of my branding process, before moving into color, typography, and the full visual system.
The interesting part?
My client chose Concept 1. I chose Concept 2.
Now Iβm curious what other creatives think.
Which direction would you choose β 1 or 2? And why?
Sometimes the most interesting part of branding is seeing how differently a client and a designer respond to the same brief.
Concept 2 for me. That interlocking figure mark reads as two people meeting, which is the actual brief here, so it gives you more to build a system on. Concept 1 is the safer, more literal pick, which is usually why clients reach for it.
Explored two different visual directions for the same SaaS landing page.
The structure stays consistent, while the imagery, mood and art direction shift the overall brand feel.
Interested to know which direction feels stronger.
