Back from vacation and back to creating. ☀️
Summer is a great time to take a break from deadlines and try out new ideas.
Lately, I’ve been playing around with Cinema 4D simulations. I’ve mixed cloth, inflation, and dynamics to turn a regular sneaker into something fun and eye-catching.
I think personal projects are the best way to quickly grow technical skills. Each experiment is a chance to discover new workflows, improve problem-solving, and bring fresh ideas to future client work.
Always learning. Always experimenting.
I’m excited to keep making more product animations and motion design projects.

Thank you so much, Bella! Really appreciate it! 🙌

The cloth and inflation dynamics on that sneaker are wild, it actually looks like it's breathing. How long did the sim take to render at that resolution?
Razvan's avatar
Thanks, Maty! I'm really glad you noticed that. That was exactly the effect I wanted to achieve. 😊
I use iRender for rendering, which lets you rent powerful PCs by the hour. For this project, I chose a machine with two RTX 4090 GPUs. Each frame took about 22 seconds to render,...

how did you do that! 👀
Razvan's avatar
Thanks! I used Cinema 4D’s cloth simulation and just kept experimenting until it looked right.

The results are amazing bro!

Amazing! Did you model the shoe after a real one?
Razvan's avatar
Thanks! 🙌 I found a basic sneaker model online and used Sculpt to improve how the cloth looks. After that, I worked on the materials, lighting, and animation.

This deserves more than just liking, this deserves to be featured! 🏆 This physics depth is perfect inspiration for mapping out immersive web interactions.
Razvan's avatar
Wow, thank you so much! That really means a lot to me. I'm glad you noticed the physics. Getting the balance between realism and satisfying motion took a lot of tweaking. I also love the idea of bringing this kind of motion into immersive web interactions.

The motion trail on the laces really sells the inflation sim, it reads like the shoe is still mid bounce rather than a static render. Good instinct to let personal work be the sandbox instead of testing new techniques on client deadlines.
Razvan's avatar
Thanks! That was exactly the intention. The laces are a secondary animation designed to reinforce the feeling of inflation without stealing attention from the shoe itself. Personal projects are the perfect sandbox for testing ideas like this.
