Most booking software feels like filing a tax return. When I looked at independent salons, the disconnect was obvious. Clients are booking an intimate, high-trust craft, yet the digital front door feels like an airport check-in kiosk. Meanwhile, the salon owner spends their evenings texting clients back and forth to puzzle together overlapping schedules. I wanted to design an experience that felt like genuine hospitality. The visual direction borrows from a classic thermal receipt. Instead of disorienting multi-step modals, everything unspools on a single continuous paper roll. Services and rituals stack logically, buffer times calculate quietly in the background to protect the schedule, and booking concludes with a deliberate slide gesture that mimics sealing an envelope. On the flip side, the owner view cuts out dashboard clutter in favor of a calm, single-column daily feed. I designed and built the entire application, business logic, and the walkthrough videos, directly inside Lovable. Honestly, this was so much fun to put together.
