Developmental Book Editing – Story, Structure & Character Development For this editing project, I provided a detailed developmental edit focused on strengthening the manuscript at the story level. I reviewed the plot, structure, pacing, character arcs, dialogue, emotional development, and overall reader experience. I identified areas where scenes could be expanded, shortened, clarified, or reorganized to create a smoother and more engaging narrative. Special attention was given to character motivations, relationship development, plot consistency, and whether key emotional moments felt believable and earned. My editing included: Plot and story structure analysis Character development and motivation Pacing and scene effectiveness Dialogue and relationship dynamics Continuity and consistency Areas of confusion or weak development Actionable revision suggestions The goal was to help the author strengthen the manuscript while preserving their unique voice, writing style, and creative vision.

Line & Copy Editing – Clarity, Flow & Polished Prose For this project, I edited the manuscript at the sentence level to create cleaner, clearer, and more professional prose while maintaining the author’s original voice. I focused on improving readability and flow by correcting grammatical issues, awkward wording, repetition, punctuation, sentence structure, and inconsistencies. I also refined passages where the meaning or emotional intention could be communicated more effectively. The editing process focused on: Grammar, spelling, and punctuation Sentence structure and readability Awkward or unclear phrasing Repetition and unnecessary wording Dialogue formatting and consistency Word choice and prose flow Tense and point-of-view consistency Maintaining the author’s voice The result was a polished manuscript with smoother prose and fewer distractions, allowing readers to focus on the characters, emotions, and story.
