About this service

Summary

From simple landing pages, to complex SaaS, AI, B2B, Web3 websites. Bespoke Headless, or Low-Code magic with Framer. Helping you deliver a website that converts your audience is my modus operandi. Over the last few years I've helped a variety of clients or worked on projects, across different industry sectors, for the likes of WWF and Netflix, to General Mills. SharpEnd, to EY and HSBC.
Quick buy a week of effort, which is perfect for landing pages, micro-sites, smaller UI/UX needs or Figma work. For bigger or longer duration projects that require more than a weeks effort, the additional time can be invoiced, with the initial payment securing the project.

Process

By combining design thinking and agile methodologies, I empathise with users, define problems, ideate creative solutions, prototype, validate, and implement the best ideas. This iterative process ensures a deep understanding of user needs and efficient project execution, fostering collaboration and delivering exceptional user experiences. 1. Empathise
Gain a profound understanding of users' perspectives, needs, and challenges through research and observation, fostering empathy and generating valuable insights to inform the design process. 2. Define
Clearly articulate the problem or opportunity based on insights and analysis, synthesising the information to form a focused and actionable problem statement that guides the design process.
3. Ideate
Generate diverse ideas and concepts through brainstorming and creative thinking. Explore innovative solutions to address the problem or opportunity identified during the design thinking process.
4. Prototype
Transform ideas into tangible representations, using various tools and techniques, such as wire-framing and prototyping, to validate and iterate on design solutions through user testing.
5. Validate
Test and gather feedback on the prototypes to evaluate their effectiveness and alignment with user needs. Iterate based on insights gained to refine and improve the design solution.
6. Implement
Translate the refined design solution into a functional product or service, utilising the necessary tools, technologies, and resources. Ensure seamless integration and bring the design vision to life.

What's included

  • Understand Phase

During this phase we will seek to understand your objectives, intentions your brand, all while we gather insight about intended users. The amount of time needed on understanding stated goals and research depends on the complexity of the project. Learning about the technical requirements and hearing from any external development partners is also useful at this stage. The outcomes, and complexity, from this phase depends on the needs of the project. Typically it will involve workshops and some level of qualitative and/or quantitive research, flows, mapping and information architecture and tree testing.

  • Explore Phase

Based on a solid foundation of understanding the business objectives and users needs / exceptions. We seek to leverage this insight to develop low-fidelity wireframes, we work with stakeholders and the findings from the previous phase to validate our design approach. Wireframe and prototype fidelity can be fine tuned to make sure there's clarity for stakeholders. If we're working with external development team, we also want to make sure the approach is consistent with the tech stack being used. The outcome from this phase is a low-fidelity and/or high-fidelity prototype. Typically this will look like a wireframe, and can also included more detailed functional prototypes depending on the needs of the project. If needed we also will conduct further validation with A/B testing and other UX testing methodologies.

  • Materialise Phase

Here we begin to work from the wireframes to build out the designs towards final production. We gravitate towards using Figma for this phase, other design software can be used if this aligns better with your internal requirements. Production will normally go through stakeholder reviews, normally one or two rounds are required to make sure all feedback and quality assurance is integrated. Final handoff will see the Figma file transferred to the client, any stock assets can also be transferred for use by the customer.

It's always a huge pleasure working with Rich. Whenever we do have the opportunity to collaborate, I always come away feeling inspired by his creativity and knowledge. If I'm looking for fresh ideas and insight on a project I'm working on, Rich is always the first person I reach out to! He always approaches projects with such professionalism, attention to detail, and incredible creative flair. On top of his excellent skillset, he's driven by great values, and is an awesome human.

I worked with Richard to design and build a standalone editorial platform for Meta to promote content creators across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region. With his UX insights, Richard skilfully crafted an interface that beautifully showcased the content of 200 diverse creators from Instagram and Facebook across 23 markets. His ability to embrace challenges, adapt to different languages and requirements, and collaborate seamlessly with the team made a lasting impression.
