What's included
Discovery
Identifying the right problems to solve. This is all about empathising with, and understanding, the users' perspectives, needs, and challenges through research and observation in an unstructured fashion. Fostering empathy and inclusivity to generating valuable insights to inform the design process. Methods we will commonly use during this phase: User Research, Competitive Analysis, Stakeholder Interviews, Empathy Mapping & Personas.
Define
Frame the identified problems. Once we've gathered insights during the previous phase, we seek to analyse the information and focus on defining the problem that needs to be solved. The divergence of the discovery phase is now followed by convergence, where our broader research is narrowed into specific and actionable insights. Methods we will commonly use during this phase: Problem Definition & Statements, Theme Identification, Affinity Diagrams User Journey Mapping, User Goals, JTBD Problem Prioritisation.
Develop
Ideate and evaluate solutions. With a clear problem statement we can begin in generating ideas, creating prototypes, and testing solutions with users. Methods we will commonly use during this phase: Information Architecture, User Flows. potential solutions that can be explored and validated.
