Quality Exteriors has been fixing roofs in Austin since 1997. For 25 years they relied on word of mouth, a magnetic sign on a truck, and a website that looked like it was built during the Bush administration.
Josh Black knew the business was solid. He just couldn't figure out why he kept losing bids to companies he knew were worse. The answer was sitting on every competitor's homepage.
The Problem:
Quality Exteriors had the reputation. They didn't have the presence. Their old site had no clear CTA, no trust signals, no local SEO, and a design that communicated "small operation" before a homeowner read a single word. In Austin's roofing market — one of the most competitive in Texas — looking like everyone else is the same as being invisible.
The brief was straightforward: make them look like the company they actually are. The execution was anything but.
The Play
We started with the brand. New logo, new color system built around a bold brand red that owns every truck, yard sign, and touchpoint it touches. An identity that communicates credibility before the site even loads.
Then we rebuilt the site in Framer from scratch. One job: get a homeowner from "I have a roof problem" to "I just booked an inspection" in three clicks or less. Every page, every section, every CTA was built around that single conversion goal.
SEO came next. Seventy-plus city and service area pages, a fully optimized Google Business Profile, schema markup, and a blog system that builds topical authority in Austin's roofing market week over week. Not set it and forget it. A system that compounds.
Finally the paid media. Meta and Google campaigns with full GA4 and Pixel tracking, a multi-step inspection funnel, and conversion architecture that made every dollar of ad spend accountable from day one.
Where We Earned Our Money
The first homepage hero was too clever. Strong headline, weak CTA. We killed it and started over with a direct offer above the fold, a trust bar below it, and one button that told the homeowner exactly what to do next.
The local SEO pages took three rounds before the internal linking structure made sense to Google. Round one indexed but didn't rank. Round two ranked but didn't convert. Round three did both.
Josh wanted to launch paid ads in month two. We pushed back and made him wait until the organic foundation was solid. That one call changed the cost per lead by thirty percent.
Good work is not always what the client wants to hear in the moment. It is always what moves the needle.
The System
Google surfaces Quality Exteriors for local roofing searches across 70+ Austin-area keywords. A homeowner lands on a page built specifically for their neighborhood. The trust stack: reviews, years in business, BBB rating, warranty removes every objection before the call. The inspection CTA converts the visit into a lead. The ad campaigns retarget non-converters and drive cold traffic into the same funnel. Every piece feeds the next. That is what makes it a system instead of a stack of random assets.
The Scoreboard
180 inbound leads. 54 closed jobs. $161K in revenue. Year one.
Josh's words after month six: "We used to look like every other roofer in Austin. Now customers tell us we're the only company that actually looked legit. That's what a real brand does."
The gap between a roofing company that struggles and one that dominates is never the quality of the work. It is whether anyone can tell the difference before they pick up the phone.
