What is YouTube?

YouTube is a video-sharing website where users can upload and share videos.

The concept is similar to that of television, which offers a variety of channels. The distinction is that users construct their own channels, where they can upload videos on various topics. On YouTube, videos are available to anyone who wants to watch. You can also add comments about the video.

YouTube hosts a vast number of movies, documentaries, music videos, home videos, and live streams of events. The popularity achieved by some home videos leads unknown people to become famous, being considered "instant celebrities." The site was founded in 2005 via Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. Creating the website came about due to the difficulty that existed at the time to share videos on the internet. Together, they created a simple website that achieved enormous success in a short time. In 2006 it was bought by the company Google for 1.65 billion dollars.

What is passive income?

Passive income can be understood as a person's income and is guaranteed without actively working harder to have it. It is received regardless of what the person does or does not do. For example, you decide to leave your job to travel for a period, and you no longer receive your salary and income from it. Still, you have a financial investment that guarantees income and interest. These incomes are a type of passive income.

Income from an investment or financial investment is not the only example of passive income: copyrights, royalties, profit from different operations, rental of real estate, and other properties, among others, are also examples. Passive income is also associated with financial independence since when you start living on passive income, it is no longer necessary to work to guarantee your primary income.

Types of Passive Income

We can divide passive income into two broad groups: passive income with and without capital.

• Passive income with capital: the most prominent example here is investment income; you use an amount of capital to be the generator of your passive income, once applied and yielding;

• Passive income without capital: is income not derived from other specific capital amounts; profits from companies in which one is a partner, royalties, image rights, for example.

HOW TO BUILD A CONTENT STRATEGY FOR YOUTUBE

When it comes to putting together a good YouTube content strategy, they are some essential tips you need to follow to make your channel successful. See what they are:

1. KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE

The first step is to understand who is going to create the content. It would be best if you determined your industry, what your identity will be, and whether it all matches the interests of your target audience. From this, you will understand how to proceed with the content of the videos.

2. HAVE QUALITY

The production and editing of videos must build a user experience. The content must be fresh, engaging, and of quality. Imagine just starting to watch something where the image is not clear or has sound problems? Therefore, it is unnecessary to spend a lot, but it is ideal to use favorable equipment. The scenery also counts, so choose a perfect place for recording videos and with good lighting.

3. MAKE A CONTENT SCHEDULE

Within the YouTube content strategy, this is one of the essential parts — creating a plan. This includes factors such as periodicity and diversity.

Setting up a publication schedule makes organizing yourself to produce upcoming content and its dissemination easier. Try creating this schedule every week and decide what frequency it will be — will you publish your videos every Thursday, for example? Always at 8 p.m.? Determine an amount, day, and time and follow the letter. After all, fans of your channel are waiting for your content, so they will know when the next video will be.
