Client: Sydecar (venture infrastructure) / Role: Web design, UX and Framer development with CMS / Timeline: About 2 years of ongoing work

The problem

Sydecar is a deal execution platform for venture capitalists, automating the back-office work so investors can focus on deals. It was growing fast, but its website was hard to maintain. It was clunky, had background errors that hurt performance, and several product features never made it onto the site because updating it was so painful.
Sydecar needed a partner who could work as an extension of its internal design team.

Our approach

We started with one new page that explained the business to investors and potential customers, then kept going. Over about two years we have covered:
Design to build. Figma design and custom Framer development for new pages and programs.
Navigation and search. A simpler menu, plus better browsing and filtering of services and programs.
CMS. A responsive content setup on Framer CMS so the team can manage content itself.
UX. A sharper focus on the mission, services and programs, with an updated look.
Maintenance. Ongoing upkeep as the product changes.
One example is the VC glossary, a structured reference for investors and founders to understand the terms of the VC world.

The outcome

Sydecar now has a site its own team can update, with the product features that used to be left off now shown. We have worked together for about two years and are still going.

"He has done wonders for our website. We plan to continue using Sam for as long as he's able to work with us." (Gavin Freeman, Sydecar)

For context, Sydecar has raised $26M+. That is the client's milestone, not a result we claim.
