Legends of the Wild West:
Cowboys and Their Horses.
Legends of the Wild West: Cowboys and Their Horses is an editorial design project exploring the visual archetypes of cowboys and their horses across film, games, and television.
The project is built around the format of a late 19th-century newspaper — a medium that was once the main source of news, myths, and public imagination. This historical reference became the foundation for the visual language: bold headlines, dense typography, expressive illustrations, and a strong sense of printed materiality.
The research is divided into four newspapers, each representing a distinct character type: The Jokers, The Villains, The Independents, and The Kind-Hearted. Each issue has its own color, mood, and graphic rhythm, reflecting the personality of the characters it explores.
Through a mix of archival aesthetics, contemporary composition, and expressive color coding, the project reinterprets the mythology of the Wild West as a visual study of character, storytelling, and cultural memory.
