Project Overview 🔎

One of Solomon’s projects, Project M², aims at encouraging people to develop good financial habits and mindsets at an early age. Nevertheless, the user experience of the existing app is neither intuitive nor attractive. Both parents and kids reflect that they spent extra effort learning how to use the app. ‘Why do I need this app when I can simply give/ receive pocket money?’

Pain point 💣

Doing but not learning.
The existing app doesn’t provide intellectual value to young users. They didn’t get insight or feedback when they made progress or completed a task.

Strategy 🛣️

Fun that makes them stay.
I applied gamification throughout the app to engage young users in the journey. The use of mascots and prompt advice are polished to make the app more informational and friendly.

Key result 🎯

Reach savings goals
Create saving goals and keep track of the progress with gamified visualization. It helps to nourish children’s vision of financial management.

Takeaways 📣

Co-supervising.
In this MVP scope, only one parent account is able to manage a kid’s profile. That means if parents want to manage their kids together, they will have to share one account. While the technical feasibility is still waiting to discuss, we wish to enable parents to co-manage kids’ profiles in the future.
