Overview In financial products, users decide in the first interaction whether they trust you. SmartInvest was building a platform to change how investors use digital financial tools. The goal was a dashboard that makes sophisticated financial data feel intuitive and that signals security and authority from the first click. The real challenge was behavioral. Experienced investors are skeptical and fast: they scan before they read and judge by feel before they analyze. If the dashboard didn't match that mindset, it wouldn't hold their attention, however strong the product behind it.

Key goals:

Build a fully custom solution from zero, with no templates or generic component libraries

Fit a rigorous product design process into less than 30 days without losing strategic depth

Express trust, authority, and sophistication in every microinteraction

Create a tokenized component system reusable across all future screens, beyond the prototype scope

Validate product hypotheses with stakeholders in real time, iterating at sprint speed

Deliver a prototype ready for development handoff and investor demos

The approach We treated this as a product design problem, not a cosmetic one. We started with qualitative research and behavioral journey mapping of experienced investors to understand their decision patterns, trust signals, and friction points. That research shaped the architecture: wireframes built for clarity, navigation designed to reduce friction, and an information hierarchy that establishes authority before showing data. The UI was built on tokenized, reusable components so the product team can extend the system on their own without breaking consistency. The interactive prototype was validated with stakeholders before handoff.
