Pizza Dreams is an award-winning, mixed-media poetic documentary project intended to spread my wings a little bit and to make something visually interesting while honing several skill sets. This film contains mixed aspect ratios, green screen, blue screen, hand-drawn animation, stop motion, composites, puppets, and everything else I could think to put in here.
Pizza Dreams is shot on a Blackmagic Cinema Pocket 4K Camera, with 24 and 35mm SIRUI Anamorphic lenses. One overhead shot utilizes a 9mm lens by LAOWA. Modern photography is shot on a Fujifilm XT20 mirrorless camera with a Fujifilm Fujinon XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM lens. Archival photography was shot in the mid to late 90s with a disposable camera. This project was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro and color graded in DaVinci Resolve. Some animated sequences were created in Adobe After Effects, and some were drawn by hand, the old-fashioned way. Images were composited in Adobe Photoshop where archival photos were also touched up, to remove logos from clothing and add more pizza.
