Case Study — Sports & Fitness Tracking App

Helping users build lasting sports and fitness habits
Overview This mobile app helps people develop and maintain healthy habits around sports, fitness, and nutrition. Whether it’s yoga, cycling, running, or football — users can track progress, set goals, and stay motivated by seeing how their body improves over time.

The Purpose

The goal was to design an experience that encourages consistency. Most users struggle to stick to a workout or sport routine — this app changes that by showing real, measurable progress through activity data, visual insights, and personal challenges.

Core Features

Activity Tracking: Tracks steps, calories burned, heart rate, and workout routes through smartwatch integration.
Goal Setting: Users can set short-term, daily, or long-term goals for any sport or habit.
Challenges: A social feature where users can join or create community challenges (e.g., “Lose 10kg in 3 months”) and compare performance with others.
Workout & Nutrition Plans: Users can create custom plans or follow recommended ones for both training and diet.
Reminders & Notifications: Smart reminders for workouts, hydration, or taking a quick walk after long sitting periods.
Progress Reports: Daily, weekly, and monthly summaries showing calories burned, time spent, and activity history.
Map Integration: Displays routes for walking, running, or cycling. Also recommends nearby routes based on user goals.
Events Near You: Lists local events related to your sports or fitness interests.
Habit Tracking: Daily check-ins for nutrition and workout consistency.

The Experience

The app combines data-driven insights with habit-building motivation. Users see their daily progress at a glance, get notified when they’re off track, and feel encouraged by tracking visible changes in their performance.

My Role

I designed the mobile experience, focusing on simplifying complex data and making motivation feel natural. The goal was to balance functionality (accurate tracking, reports, and data visualization) with emotional design (progress, community, and encouragement).

Outcome

The result is a clean, motivating, and data-rich app that doesn’t overwhelm users — instead, it keeps them coming back to see their improvement and stay on track with their goals.
