Spanish Supercup advertising campaign designed for FC Barcelona.

The Spanish Super Cup is an official football competition organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, played since 1982 and which since 2020 has pitted the top two finishers in the First Division League and the two finalists in the Copa del Rey de the previous season. 





The Campaign

Advertising campaign developed for the Spanish Supercup performed in Saudí Arabia in January 2022.

The campaign was designed to capture the excitement and energy of the tournament, while highlighting FC Barcelona's dominance on the field. From billboards to social media ads, the campaign utilized bold colors and striking imagery to grab the attention of fans and non-fans alike.






The Messaging

The messaging focused on the team's winning mentality and end-syncratic expressions of Catalan soccer culture with slogans like "Gallina de Piel" and "We Play for the Vice of the Ball" resonating with fans and inspiring a sense of pride in their team.

End-syncretic expressions refer to the unique cultural and linguistic expressions that are specific to a certain region or group of people. In the case of FC Barcelona, the team is deeply rooted in the region of Catalonia, and the campaign messaging aimed to capture the essence of Catalan soccer culture.

The campaign slogans were not only catchy and memorable, but they also spoke to the deep sense of pride and identity that Catalan soccer fans have for their team. The messaging was intended to evoke a feeling of connection and belonging among fans, highlighting the fact that FC Barcelona is not just a soccer team, but a representation of Catalan culture and identity.

Additionally, the campaign featured visuals and imagery that were specific to Catalan culture, such as the use of the Catalan flag and the team's colors of blue and red, which are also the colors of the Catalan flag.
