Civic Engagement App

Branding and App Design for a non-traditional community-focused Engagement App. This app seeks to answer the question, "Where do users get their primary political information"? It aims to provide recent news and active engagement opportunities.

My role was to define their brand identity, build a brand strategy that stands apart in a sea of noise and constant information, and build an app prototype for review and investor consideration.

Key Deliverables:

Vision vs Strategy

Brand Strategy

Competitive Audit

Responsive Web Design

User Experience

Logo Creation

Wireframing

Hi-Fidelity Prototype

I designed personas that I referred to throughout the entire process to ensure the product didn't deviate from the needs of my users. Included in each user persona are Age, Education, Hometown, and Occupation. Additionally, it provides context for app needs, personal goals, and family life.

The desired intent was to provide a wide look at users with different life demands and a varied approach to getting involved in their local community.

From the onset of this project, the product felt as if there was increasing demand for users to learn more about events that they care about. As society and younger audiences become more aware of local, national, and global events, trends have shown that they are more willing to get involved.

Since each user is involved in a different political or social movement, it is considered a highly desirable product to have an app that offers a variety of options. A social engagement app that is convenient, safe, reliable, and easy to use.
