Tank Magazine collaborated with designers including Maryam, Calvin Klein, and Vêtements to create editorial films that captured the essence of each brand’s identity and aesthetic. The goal was to showcase the collections through short-form content that resonated with a cultural and style-savvy, culturally influential audience.
CALVIN KLEIN
My Approach: I approached the edits as visual storytelling exercises, shaping rhythm, pacing, and mood to reflect each designer’s creative world. By emphasising texture, movement, and atmosphere, I ensured the films felt immersive, aligned with Tank’s editorial tone, and meaningful to its fashion-forward audience.
Maryam
My Role: I crafted the narrative flow from raw footage to highlight the designers’ vision. I used pacing, sound, and visual emphasis to evoke the mood of each collection. I also collaborated with the creative team to ensure alignment with Tank’s editorial voice and brand identity.
Rather than presenting the material as straightforward behind-the-scenes documentation, I treated the footage with cropping, rotoscoping, and layering to create an atmosphere. This approach elevated the content beyond a simple recap, making it feel like a cinematic experience that left a stronger impression on the audience.
Vêtements
The Outcome: The films were published as part of Tank’s editorial features, reinforcing the magazine’s reputation for innovative fashion storytelling. They also provided some of the designers with a platform to expand their brand narrative and connect with a global audience that loves high fashion.
