Product Design for Cafe Mei

Coffee shops are evolving with tech features, focusing on quick service, community, and seamless ordering. Cafe Mei needs a new digital customer experience and system that make ordering accessible.

My goal for the Cafe Mei loyalty app is to provide customers with a seamless online ordering experience through an accessible platform. Through the app, customers are able to earn and share loyalty points based on their individual preferences, ensuring a personalized and rewarding journey for each user.

During the research phase, I created user personas to identify areas for improvement and potential features to implement. The user personas help narrowed down which design goals to focus on; and through performing a competitive analysis, I noted gaps in personalized rewards, social connectivity, and accessibility in our competitor's apps. With the problem statement in place, my attention turned to crafting solutions that precisely target user issues. Through methods such as competitive analysis and additional user interviews, I pinpointed openings and deficiencies in similar apps. This guided the selection of features and delineated the loyalty app's key focus areas.

Crafting Cafe Mei's loyalty app involved establishing a foundational design system, outlining the core components of its visual language. I aimed to maintain Cafe Mei's authenticity in the app's visual design, mirroring its physical ambiance and culinary offerings through earthy tones, culinary visuals, and serene ambiance. Lush green hues infuse the screens with natural tranquility, while clean, rounded buttons and intuitive icons enhanced task manageability. I chose to pair to modern fonts were chosen to ensure clear and distinctive messaging, while combining legibility with a touch of personality.
