TRANSLATED:
On the day he realized she had left, Erik Gould opened the door of the house and, slowly, walked out into the garden. He stood in front of the flowerbed. He took off his belt, stripped off his pants, followed by his cotton t-shirt with pictures of gazelles jumping, the undershirt, and then his black socks. He stood naked in between the flowers. Leaned over and tore his hands on the roses. Hugged and caressed them, until he started bleeding from his hands, arms, his chest, lips, sex, his face until he wasn't able to handle the pain engraved on his flesh any longer. The perfume of the flowers mixed with the blood and filled the air with the earth and the heavens, with dream and nightmare, with clouds and roots, circumferences and straight lines.

Here is a short piece of my WIP. I've been translating the book "Nem Todas as Baleias Voam", by Afonso Cruz, for fun. Portuguese to English.
