Bow is a thoughtfully designed mobile application aimed at helping users celebrate the special people in their lives through meaningful gestures. At its core, Bow allows users to save and be reminded of important dates birthdays, anniversaries, milestones and empowers them to show appreciation through personalised gifting options. Whether it’s a friend, family member, or colleague, Bow provides a seamless and thoughtful way to honor these moments. Unlike basic calendar reminders, Bow integrates celebration and gifting features into a single, intuitive platform, bridging the gap between remembering a special date and taking meaningful action.

Despite the abundance of calendar and gifting apps, there is still a significant gap in how people celebrate and appreciate others. Key challenges include:

Lack of a unified system for remembering important dates Users currently rely on scattered tools calendar apps, notes, or memory which often leads to missed opportunities to celebrate loved ones.

Awkwardness around gifting, especially cash gifts Many people wish to give cash gifts but feel uncomfortable or unsure of the etiquette involved, leading to inaction.

No seamless, customisable way to give both cash and non-cash gifts Current apps don't offer flexible options for gifting that suit various levels of privacy, personalisation, and spontaneity.

Celebrations are often limited to birthdays There's a need for a tool that supports broader types of occasions, from work anniversaries to personal milestones across different demographics.

The primary goal of the Bow project is to create a comprehensive, user-friendly platform that enhances the way people celebrate and appreciate others. This includes:

Enabling users to store and be reminded of important dates

Making it easier and more comfortable to send both cash and non-cash gifts

Allowing users to choose how they wish to express appreciation publicly, privately, or anonymously

Supporting a wide range of celebrations, beyond birthdays, to suit diverse cultures, relationships, and occasions

By doing so, Bow aims to foster stronger personal connections and make thoughtfulness more accessible and less awkward in everyday life.
