SkillMatch Lavoro is an Italian job platform I designed and built end to end, now live in its first release with early users.
Instead of keyword search, it matches people to openings by skills. Candidates upload a CV (PDF, DOCX or image) and the skills are extracted automatically, or they enter them by hand; the engine then ranks compatible positions within the radius they choose, combining jobs posted on the platform with openings aggregated from the web, sponsored posts first.
For companies and recruiters a basic posting is free. Visibility is sold as credit packages assigned to individual ads, with no subscription, paid by card through Stripe. Each applicant is shown with a compatibility percentage against the hard and soft skills required by the ad, and applications and messages are handled inside the platform.
Scope of my work: product and UX, data model, skill matching and geolocated search, web job aggregation, payments, landing pages by city and for remote work. Built on Base44 with custom backend functions for geocoding, job publishing and web job search.
Migration trial: Base44 to Supabase
In October 2026 I ran a full trial migration of this app's database to a Supabase test project, using a command-line tool I built for the purpose. It was a technical trial on my own app, not a client delivery: the live app still runs on Base44.
14 entities rebuilt as typed Postgres tables, with data and user accounts loaded and no rejected rows
56 of 56 Base44 access rules translated into Row Level Security policies
Automated verification of record counts and content against the original: 32 of 32 checks passed
Checked directly on the database that an anonymous visitor sees the public job posts and nothing else
