Logline: Showbiz never dies, even in an apocalypse! When two women on opposite teams of a dating show realize their partners aren’t the ones, they must win the prize, a life-saving luxury bunker, in an alternative way or risk facing the end of the world alone.
Project Overview
What if the only way to survive the apocalypse was to prove your compatibility on a dating game show? Love’s Last Stand is a darkly comedic, queer rom-com set during a nuclear countdown — a satirical exploration of love, identity, and performance in a collapsing world.

My Role
I directed, co-wrote, cast, sound-designed, mixed, and composed the original score — leading a crew of 30+ artists and film professionals from script to premiere. As director, I oversaw creative development, scheduling, and collaboration across departments, balancing artistic vision with organization.

Cinematography
Shot on a RED Raptor with Cooke Special Flare lenses and Panasonic DVX 100B cameras, the film blends cinematic polish with nostalgic texture.
To capture the chaotic spectacle of the game show scenes, we used a three-camera setup with the DVX 100Bs— a major technical challenge that required experimenting with different monitoring systems until the feeds aligned. I wanted the feel of a real televised game show — smooth zooms, and a sense of live unpredictability — but filtered through a vintage 4:3 aspect ratio to match the film’s retrofuturistic tone.

Production & Collaboration
This was my largest production yet, uniting a full creative team. I worked with people in certain roles I hadn't before, such as costume designer, stunt coordinator, steadicam operator, and graphic designer. Each department helped shape the film’s campy, high-concept aesthetic.
Set Builds
We built two full sets from scratch: the Love’s Last Stand game show and its backstage lounge.
– The show logo was laser-cut, painted, and custom-lit.
– The lounge ceiling required nine panels, joined and spackled for a seamless look.
– All signage and posters were designed specifically for this film’s stylized universe.

Stunts & Safety
Our climactic sequence involved a choreographed altercation, rehearsed and executed with a stunt coordinator to ensure safety without sacrificing the comedy.

Creative Impact
This project represents my evolution as both filmmaker and collaborator — a year-long journey from idea to premiere. At its heart, it’s about love, chaos, and the absurd lengths we go to feel understood.
The film is still in it's festival circuit, but you should expect a public release early next year!
