Overview 🔍

The Detroit College Access Network (DCAN) is the leading organization providing resources and support for college access and success for Detroit students. As a part of their mission, DCAN provides an annual impact report to measure and share the impact of their programs.

Objective 📍

The objective of this project was to create an impact report that was able to effectively communicate the impact of DCAN’s work and provide a visually engaging experience for the reader.

Vision & Requirements 📌

Make the design clean and eye catching
Adhere to existing brand guidelines
Use copywriting to effectively communicate the impact
Highlight surpassed goals and milestones using the excel spreadsheet

My Design Process ✏️

Kick-Off Meeting

My process for this project began with a kickoff meeting to dicusss deadlines, method of communication, visual ideas and mandatory requirements for the project. 

Research

Next, I focused on researching and understanding the mission and goals of the brand. I used a variety of inspiration tools to devise several concepts.

Concepts

I then created different design concepts based on the organization’s brand identity and worked with DCAN's team to choose a concept.

Finalization

From there, I took the team's feedback,finalized all corrections and revisions, and delivered the files.

Key Takeaways 🎯

In conclusion, the impact report design for the Detroit College Access Network was a success. It provided an opportunity to showcase their accomplishments over the past year and to demonstrate the impact their work has had on the Detroit community. The report was well-received, with stakeholders and members of the community expressing their appreciation for the quality of the design and the information it provided. I'm genuinely happy to have been apart of such an impactful cause!
