BALANS Studio is an independent production house that creates unique and thought-provoking content for brands. They've approached our team with a challenge to create a highly artistic, interactive storytelling website showcasing their daring spirit and highly unconventional approach.
In full creative freedom, we've come up with a unique solution - a highly dynamic website in a cinematic setting, with complex interactive animations to make the experience engaging.
This was one of my favorite projects developing because of its highly dynamic and original nature, complex animation, and optimization challenges.
Interesting technical solutions used here are WebGL (custom shaders, e.g. chromatic aberration distortion), and custom-coded GSAP animations, synchronized with a very extensive usage of the Webflow animation engine.
As a result, we were able to impress our Client and received recognition with multiple awards:
4x CSS Design Awards (Best UI, Best UX, Best Innovation, Special Kudos)
