Project Goal Chris, the host of the Empathic Explorer podcast, needed music and overall guidance on how to make the podcast ready to take off.

The first problem to solve was the podcast concept itself. It was not quite focused enough, there were no tangible goals Chris wanted to achieve with the podcast, and listeners tended to tune out after 10% of the episodes.

The second challenge was translating the new streamlined concept and format into music.

About the podcast: The Empathic Explorer podcast explores the rich tapestry of the human experience, celebrating both its successes and challenges. It aims to foster empathy and expand perspectives for a brighter future by talking about what experiences, believes, and circumstances shaped the guests into who they are today.

Solution  To refine the podcast concept, we dove deep into the “Why” Chris started the podcast and worked out a clear outline in a format & concept workshop together.

With this outline, it was way easier to develop a fitting music concept. In its core, it tried to translate empathy and exploration into music.

While composing and producing the music, I explored the creating of new instruments and created the empathic piano and empathic guitar, both of which are playing in the Highlight music. The rest of the music is a unique mix of the tonality of the podcast and Chris's very own taste.
