The website behind the control layer of electric mobility.

VESC Technologies makes the part of an electric vehicle that decides how it actually moves. Motor controllers, battery management, the control layer sitting between the battery and the wheels. It is the control systems arm of Motovolt, the Kolkata EV manufacturer, and it sells to OEMs building their own vehicles. We did the website, the Webflow build and the 3D.

Challenges

You cannot photograph a motor controller. It is a sealed black box that goes inside somebody else's vehicle and never gets looked at again. And the person deciding whether to buy it is an engineer betting a production run on the choice, so they are not looking to be sold to. They want the numbers, quickly.

Strategy

We let the 3D do the arguing, since photography had nothing to shoot. X-ray renders put the hardware inside real vehicles so you can see exactly where it sits, and exploded views open the box up. Everything else stays plain. Mono type, engineering grids, and every claim stated as a number rather than an adjective.

Impact

The site reads like production infrastructure instead of a parts catalogue. A technical buyer gets to specs in seconds, and the three layers of the control system sit together as one architecture rather than three separate product pages, which is how the company actually sells.
